Kimmi graduated from UC Santa Cruz where she received a BS in Neuroscience and then pursued an AAS in Biotechnology from PCC. Her scientific focus has been in the development and application of genomic and epigenetic techniques to create a better understanding of human diseases. Kimmi’s prior experiences include managing a genomics lab focused on chromosome evolution and its relation to cancer development, building an epigenetics service core that assisted biomedical researchers across an array of disease states and target species, and program/portfolio management of R+D and drug discovery initiatives including AI- and cancer-derived biologics.
Outside of the lab, Kimmi can be found reading a book, drinking tea, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.
