Welcome to the Founder’s Circle: With Purpose

We are honored to welcome 501(c)(3) organization With Purpose to our Founding Circle of supporters. With Purpose has made a $10,000 gift to support cc-TDI’s search for treatments for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). With Purpose was founded by parents Erin Benson and Michael Lee in honor of their son Sam, who was diagnosed with DIPG in 2013. DIPG is a rare tumor of the brainstem that occurs almost exclusively in children under 10 years old. It represents one of the most devastating diagnoses among pediatric cancers, with an average survival rate of just nine months. Over the next year, cc-TDI researchers will be working with a multi-institution consortium to define the most effective second agent for an evidence-based clinical trial. “We believe cc-TDI’s focus on the pre-clinical gap will change the way childhood cancer research is being done in the U.S. and help get kids the treatments they need to conquer this disease,” said With Purpose co-founder Erin Benson.
“Support from With Purpose is especially meaningful to our research efforts,” noted cc-TDI Scientific Director and interim Executive Director Charles Keller, MD. “Children and families are the heart of what we do. We are honored to catalyze the search for a two-drug DIPG treatment in tribute to Sam and the children who share his story.” Download the full press release.
