I am a PhD student at CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, India. As part of the “Indo-U.S. Genome Engineering/Editing Technology Initiative (GETin)” of the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, I am currently interning at cc-TDI. I primarily work on the quiescence program of muscle stem cells, which under homeostatic conditions, exists in a state of reversible cell cycle arrest and represents the opposite of tumors cells, which are constantly dividing. During my internship I am interested in utilizing genome editing technology to control the quiescent state in relation to stem cell biology in normal and in pathological conditions like cancer and dystrophies. I am also contributing to rhabdomyosarcoma studies.
