Two months ago cc-TDI announced the exciting launch of our Expansion Campaign and the big news that early in 2023 cc-TDI will relocate to our new laboratory in nearby Hillsboro, Oregon. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our yearly years in our eclectic, 70+ year-old paint factory – turned Nike building used for product testing executive launch parties. The saying goes that Michael Jordan would test Air Jordan shoes on the indoor basketball court that has since been converted to our laboratory floor.
cc-TDI’s current space has been the perfect space for a budding biotech start-up. In the first seven years in operations we’ve secured a team of 16 scientist and engineer researchers, published 58 peer-review publications, pushed two drugs into three national and international clinical trials, and received more than $3 Million in NIH grants. This success is truly just beginning. There is still so much work to be done. Thanks to our proven pipeline and ability to effectively (and efficiently!) scale our research, we aim to push five drugs into clinical trials each year.
Our new home will be a critical element in achieving this goal. The state-of-the-art laboratory will offer a re-designed layout allowing for continued growth of our team, increased collaborations with the best in the field, and additional cutting-edge research projects for the most underserved childhood cancers. Importantly, this new lab will house the Megan Bugg Global Rhabdomyosarcoma Research Lab, securing Megan’s legacy in all current and future rhabdomyosarcoma projects. We can’t thank the thousands of Team Megan Bugg supporters for making this happen in her memory.
We have an amazing team facilitating the design, construction and transition phases. Our dear friends at ZGF Architects have been integral in bringing our vision to life with a unique blueprint and thanks to the team at R&H Construction, we were able to commence the buildout phase with a bit of demolition fun. This significant, albeit somewhat silly, tradition represents an exciting milestone for cc-TDI and our team. When the time eventually comes to pack our supplies and make the official move, we guarantee the moment will be filled with bittersweet emotions. We truly can’t thank all of the friends, families and partners who have helped cc-TDI begin our story. Some of you have been with us from our earliest days, when our future was still uncertain. Your hope-filled generosity and steadfast belief in our mission has been, and will continue to be, the cornerstone to our research success. Without you, there would be no us.
We look forward to sharing all of the exciting updates in the months to come. Join us in writing our next chapter as we move the future of childhood cancer research!
