Hero Up Project Targeting Medulloblastoma

Hero Up for Children’s Cancer Foundation has funded a pilot research project at cc-TDI to better treat brain tumors that spread in the brain and along the spine. The childhood brain tumor is called medulloblastoma, which is the most common brain tumor of childhood. Medulloblastoma has a problematic tendency to metastasize.

This scientific publication by cc-TDI shows that a clinically-investigated drug originally developed for adult colon cancer blocks the receptor for IGF1 in childhood medulloblastoma and can impair survival of tumor cells.  https://www.nature.com/articles/srep27012
